The Program for Psychotherapy is a multidisciplinary
training program in the Outpatient Psychiatry Department of the Cambridge
Health Alliance which includes advanced fellows in psychiatry and social
work as well as psychology. This two-year fellowship focuses on long-term
psychodynamic psychotherapy of adult outpatients. The program consists of
32 hours per week including approximately 16 patient hours. Fellows
receive intensive individual supervision in psychodynamic treatment and
group supervision by a psychoanalyst. They also participate in two reading
seminars, one on Theory and Technique of Psychoanalytic Treatment (first
year) and the other on Object Relations and Psychoanalytic Theories
(second year). The fellowship, which begins July 1st, also includes five
hours of research time and once monthly case conferences, discussions with
a senior faculty member, and in-service trainings.
